DEC50323 MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER

Microprocessor and Microcontroller provides a comprehensive overview of microprocessors and microcontrollers, with an emphasis on programming techniques such as interrupts, polling, and hardware interfacing. Students learn the skill to interface microprocessors and microcontrollers with external devices by using GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output), Analog-to-Digital Converters (A/D), Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), and serial communication. The course materials include the fundamentals and practical applications of ARM development tools, which are used in both C and assembly programming languages. Furthermore, students will acquire practical experience in the development of embedded systems that interface with external peripherals using serial communication and digital I/O. Additionally, the course covers CPU architecture, memory organisation, and power management systems.

DEE10133 MEASUREMENT DEVICES

Measurement Devices introduces students to the basic concept of electrical instruments and measurement. It covers the basic principles of measurement, safety precautions and meter calibration. Students will also use measurement devices such as analogue meters, DC meters, analogue and digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and power meters during the practical sessions. This course also covers the basic concept and simple application of the DC Bridge.
